Two years ago today, our good friends Saru san the stuffed monkey and Kuma san the stuffed bear’s Mom passed away. They were from Osaka and they were our long-time customers. We traveled together numerous times. Their Mom would leave funny comments on Facebook every single day. They were part of our lives and all the memories we shared with Saru san and Kuma san and their Mom were very real. Saru san and Kuma san left this world with their Mom. It still hurts and we miss them so much. We did meet with their Mom in Osaka area 4 times, but it was only 4 times. Feeling this sadness made me realize that Saru san and Kuma san had an overwhelming presence in our lives. They had their own powerful presence. They were stuffed animals, but they were more than that. We miss you guys.

2年前の今日、さるさん、くまさんとお母さんが旅立ちました。大阪から長年に渡りツアーにご参加いただいていたお客様であり、多くの皆様にとっての旅友さん達でした。数え切れないぐらい一緒に旅をしました。さるさん、くまさんのお母さんはいつもFacebookに楽しいコメントをしてくださり、それを私たちは毎日どれほど楽しみに過ごしていたことか。。私たちの日常の一部であり、さるさん、くまさん、お母さんと共に過ごした時間は確かに存在していました。2年経った今もお会いできない事が寂しくて仕方ありません。さるさん、くまさんのお母さんとは大阪、神戸などで4回お会いした事がありましたが、考えてみればたったの4回でした。今もこの悲しみと向き合う度に、さるさん、くまさんの存在がいかに大きかったかを痛感します。人間の代わりとか人との交流を補完する存在ではなく、人にインパクトを与えるパワフルな存在であったと。さるさん、くまさんはぬいぐるみではあったけど、それ以上の存在であったのは確かです。今でもとても寂しいです。
